Do I need a caregiver to take part?
No. A caregiver is not required to participate.
Our program is designed to support both participants and their caregivers, but joining with a caregiver is completely optional. If a caregiver does choose to attend, they may participate at no cost.
Are volunteers trained specifically in dementia support?
Yes. All volunteers receive specialized preparation for dementia support, including an in-person orientation and online training provided through the Alzheimer’s Association.
Is the choir associated with any religious or political messages or affiliations?
Second Verse Choir does not align with or promote any specific religious or political viewpoints. We are committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming environment for all participants, regardless of personal beliefs or affiliations.
Do I need a formal diagnosis to participate?
No. Anyone experiencing memory loss or other dementia-related symptoms is welcome to join.
What does the participation fee cover?
The fee includes the cost of music, binders, and practice recordings.
Are there options available to help with costs?
Yes. Fee adjustments are available for those who need financial support.
Is transportation support available?
We are actively collaborating with community partners to expand transportation options. A resource sheet is available upon request.
